OUR REVIEW
Approaching the hotel you can tell that is
going to be a nice stay. Part of the Radisson chain you can
expect top notch
service and stay here. Check in was a breeze and the front
desk clerk was
quit friendly. The hotel was remodel in
2003 so no worries of a antiquated stay.
The hotel has a Sushi restaurant inside
for dining in. The pricing is a bit high and
service is O.K. but, the Teppanyaki Chefs
are always a blast to watch work. After you
dine here a bit you get a chance to find
your own favorite Chef. Reservations are
recommended for it can be really busy
on weekends and holidays. This is also
a hotel that serves conferences so check
with the front desk for information booking
you next Flagstaff conference.

OUR REVIEW
Not located in the best of Flagstaff, but a
great place to stay. This hotel is truly what
Flagstaff, Arizona is about. Surrounded
by blue spruce and ponderosa pine trees
it really gives a sense of staying in the
forest. A plus to this Flagstaff hotel is it
has a full restaurant and lounge area as
well a fun gift shop. Rooms are quit nice and so was the staff.
We even enjoy to
eat here even when we are not staying here. This hotel is usually
where I send my friends and family to stay. A bit expensive
for Flagstaff but always worth the money. The down fall is it
is located just off of I-40 and can have a bit of traffic located
around it. Not so much the noise but the driving condition
can be tough for some. Also the hotel is located next to one
of the largest truck stops. Does not seem to bother most but
just thought we might mention this for out of town delivery
drivers. This a is a great stop if you have been driving a
big truck on a long drive.
P.S. It is fun to stay here during the winter
Christmas season. They have a festival
of lights that are just beautiful.

The
Rooms
Always are pretty clean but the hotel itself
seems like it is ready for a few repairs like
most you will find in Flagstaff.
|
|
The
Pool
The pool area is nice but when traveling
to Flagstaff a pool is only enjoyable for
a few of the summer months. Choose a
hotel in Flagstaff by location not the pool.
The pool is closed for the winter. |

OUR REVIEW
As you drive up you will notice it is such
a cute place. Seems clean and out of
the way of traffic and train noise. A plus
when trying to choose a Flagstaff hotel.
The breakfast is cold and fast, more
like a snack. Better to walk across the
street to Cocos for a real breakfast. I find
the best part of this hotel to be the location. Many visitor
choose the down town area which most of the time is filled
with train noise every 20 minutes or so, and student partying.
The hotel is about 15 years old and really could use at least
a quick update to the furniture and bedding. Once again you
will find this in most hotels located in Flagstaff, Arizona.
If you want better than this, look to a local bed and breakfast.
The are not cheap but are always a great experience while staying. When
first arriving the front desk
attendant Brad had no problem letting me look around and take
pictures. He even offerd me a chance to see the room befor
staying here. I found it to be a bit better
than many of the reviews I read on-line.
The first floor rooms even have there own
private door to the pool. A plus when
swimming, not having to walk through the
lobby.

Grand Canyon Railway
Planning on traveling to the Grand Canyon
while visiting in Flagstaff or Williams.
Take a trip on the Grand Canyon Railway and sit back and relax.
The trip is really
a kick and can be a whole day of fun and enjoyment. The have coke
in the bottle
and a side show for of all ages. It is like a blast from the past.
I found the best is you do not have to do the driving to see the
Grand Canyon |

- Travel north on Humphreys Street to Columbus
Avenue, turn left. Columbus Avenue becomes Highway 180. Take
Highway 180 west to Highway 64. Head north on Highway 64 directly
to the East Entrance of the South Rim - known as Desert View. 49.6
miles (79.8 km) - 55 minutes

The Grand Canyon is one of the most sought after spots
to visit while in Flagstaff, Arizona. Well there are just a few more
locations off the main road that just might wow you too. Pack up a day lunch
and take a visit to Grand Falls just about a
40 mile drive from Flagstaff. After visiting Grand Falls you get t the sense
that you are not quite in the desert anymore.
This is the perfect day trip for the family. Old or young everyone can enjoy
this special place outside of Flagstaff. The hike
from the parking area is not
bad, I would not suggest it for children under the age of 7 or the more wise
over 65 years of age.
The ground can tend to be very slippery, but can be viewed just as well from
above. |
