Elephant Rocks Golf Course Williams,
Arizona |
|
|
 |
Williams
Golf Course
This is one of the most fun public golf courses in Northern,
Arizona. It is a 18 whole, 6695-yard championship course.
The
golf course got it's name from the huge rocks shaped
like
elephants that surround the course.

This
is a fun hole. It is a par 3 and yes
I do end up in the water from time to
time. The wind and elevation here
are something to be considered. |
|
By
far a favorite. My wife really likes
to play this hole. About 455 yards and
100 feet elevated it is a challenge to
judge this one. |

OUR REVIEW
I love to play this golf course. It is a great way
to get away from the busy courses and enjoy
a great round of golf. Over the years of playing here the course
has improved leaps and
bounds. I especcially like the way the course
opens with a few easy holes and slowly
becomes more challenging as you play through. Many times playing
during sunset
you can expect to see elk and deer roaming
the golf course. Getting a good tee time has never really been
a issue. We have even had
many family tournements here. Playing many of
the courses in Northern, Arizona I find Elephant
Rocks to be the most enjoyable for the money.
The only downfall is you can only play 18 holes
here, they do not offer a 9 hole rate.

The
Continental Country Club Golf Course
The Continental Country Club Golf Course (formally
Elden Hills Golf Course) is nestled at the foot of
the San Francisco Peaks in Flagstaff Arizona. It is
a delightfully challenging course with fun-to-play
par 5s and demanding par 3s. This 18-hole course totals
6,014 yards making it easy to walk or ride.

It
is a fun course to play but a bit
more challenging than Elephant
Rocks in Williams, Az. |
|
The
greens are fun and forgiving but
the course can be a bit crowded
with amature players and beginers.
Usually a wait at the tee box after
just a few holes |
|
OUR REVIEW
With only a select few public golf courses in
Northern, Arizona what can we say. It is located
on the east side of Flagstaff. The driving range
is located accross the street and many times
is to full to get a spot to practice. We still play
here when we are looking for a quick game.
We always like to make a evening tee time
and play until it is dark. You do not always
get to play 18 holes, but it is more enjoyable
to play without a wait.

Grand Canyon Railway
Planning on traveling to the Grand Canyon
while visiting in Flagstaff or Williams.
Take a trip on the Grand Canyon Railway and sit back and relax.
The trip is really
a kick and can be a whole day of fun and enjoyment. The have coke
in the bottle
and a side show for of all ages. It is like a blast from the past.
I found the best is you do not have to do the driving to see the
Grand Canyon |
|

- Travel north on Humphreys Street to Columbus
Avenue, turn left. Columbus Avenue becomes Highway 180. Take
Highway 180 west to Highway 64. Head north on Highway 64 directly
to the East Entrance of the South Rim - known as Desert View. 49.6
miles (79.8 km) - 55 minutes

The Grand Canyon is one of the most sought after spots
to visit while in Flagstaff, Arizona. Well there are just a few more
locations off the main road that just might wow you too. Pack up a day lunch
and take a visit to Grand Falls just about a
40 mile drive from Flagstaff. After visiting Grand Falls you get t the sense
that you are not quite in the desert anymore.
This is the perfect day trip for the family. Old or young everyone can enjoy
this special place outside of Flagstaff. The hike
from the parking area is not
bad, I would not suggest it for children under the age of 7 or the more wise
over 65 years of age.
The ground can tend to be very slippery, but can be viewed just as well from
above. |
